The betting industry showed their strength when Austrian betting firm bwin extended its shirt sponsorship dela with Real Madrid for another three years.
bwin has been the shirt sponsor since the 2007-08 season. The new deal will see its name on the Real Madrid shirt until the end of the 2012-13 season.

You got to hand it to the Spanish. They know how to live life. 10pm kick offs? What do they do the whole day that they have to kick off so late?
One reason why the Spanish league is not so popular in Singapore is because when they play live, it’s 4am here. But Real Madrid aren’t suggesting the change in timing for us here in sunny Singapore of course.

The Spanish La Liga kicked off last weekend with Real Madrid looking set to give treble winning Barcelona FC a run for their money in the coming season.
But after a stunning summer spending spree including world class players and an impressive pre-season, the Spanish giants barely edged out Deportivo la Coruna 3-2 in their opening match.
The only positives from the match would be Ronaldo’s first goal (from the penalty spot) and the assurance that captain Raul still has it (even though it was the easiest goal he would ever get and I could have score it).

Chelsea has set up a new website, www.chelseafc.com.cn, to cater to the huge Chinese market.
This mirrors the moves by Manchester United which not only has a site in Chinese, but also Korean, Japanese and Arabic.
Chelsea also has a site in Russian. Not surprising, given its owner Roman Abramovich is Russian.
